Andrew Mandyam is a Founder & Partner at Utilis Consulting Inc. Andrew has extensive experience in the natural gas, power generation and electricity industries, working both as an independent consultant and in executive management roles. Andrew has over twenty years of experience in utility regulation, business and strategic planning, financial management, mergers and large business transformation programs. As the Director, Regulatory Affairs, Financial Planning & Analysis at Enbridge Gas, he led the regulatory and business planning process for the successful merger of Enbridge Gas Distribution and Union Gas. Andrew has a Mechanical Engineering Degree, Master’s Degree in Business Administration and is a Professional Engineer registered in the Province of Ontario. Andrew has a broad set of skills and experience that includes engineering, operations, customer care, finance and human resources. He has provided strategic consulting and regulatory advice to energy associations, natural gas and electric utilities, and is well versed in what it takes to develop and execute a successful regulatory Rates Applications or Policy Consultation. Andrew is accomplished in stakeholder relations and facilitation, overcoming obstacles by building trust and understanding. Andrew is recognized for his leadership, integrity, respect and inspiration of teams to create a shared vision.
Brandon Ott is a Founder & Partner at Utilis Consulting Inc. Brandon’s intellect and keen sense for strategy have helped businesses succeed in the utility, energy marketing and renewable energy industries. Brandon has over ten years of targeted experience in utility regulation, business development, government relations, energy efficiency, renewable energy and deregulated energy markets. As Manager of Regulatory Applications at Enbridge Gas, Brandon led a variety of successful regulatory applications, from Leave to Construct approvals to new rate applications and clean energy proposals, including the successful Ontario Energy Board review of Enbridge Gas’s first Five Year Natural Gas Supply Plan, encompassing billions in planned expenditures. Brandon has a Master's Degree in Political Science and Environmental Studies from the University of Toronto, which compliments the business acumen he has consistently shown in both his professional career and entrepreneurial ventures. A natural writer and speaker, Brandon has a demonstrated ability to work with experts and professionals to unpack complex and obscure issues, and plot a course that puts strategy first. Both direct and tactful, Brandon is known for his ability to cut to the core of challenges, while building meaningful business relationships and leading diverse teams toward shared success.
Bruce Bacon has over 40 years of experience in the energy industry and is an expert in utility cost of service, cost allocation and rate design. Bruce is highly regarded in the electricity distribution sector, has a wealth of technical rate-making knowledge, and conducts himself with of the highest levels of integrity. Bruce was a consultant to the Ontario Energy Board in preparing its cost allocation model and has assisted in the preparation of over 100 distribution cost of service rate applications for over 45 utilities. He has also testified before the OEB on numerous occasions in support of utlity applications. Aside from his technical expertise, Bruce is known for developing meaningful working relationships across the province over the past 20 years as a consultant. Retired in 2020, Bruce joined the Utilis Team in 2022 in a part time supporting role to re-engage in the work he enjoys the most as a provider of training, technical review, and strategic advisory services.
Marc Abramovitz brings over 20 years of experience at the Ontario Energy Board and Independent Electricity System Operator as a rate-maker and project manager. Having supported the creation of the Ontario Energy Board's cost of service models, led development of the Incentive Rate-Setting Mechanism model and process, and actively supported countless proceedings, Marc’s knowledge and skills significantly boosts Utilis’s technical expertise and its ability to provide clients with insight and expertise that optimize regulatory outcomes.
Sadia Gondal has a Masters in Economic Development and Innovation from the University of Waterloo, and 8 years of research and professional experience in academia, startups and consulting. Sadia's strong research and writing skills are underpinned by a sound knowledge of utility regulatory principles and practice. Sadia's diligent reporting helps to keep Canadian regulatory professionals informed, while her critical support for consulting engagements helps to give Utilis clients an edge in energy regulation.
